Creative Writing undergraduate with several published articles in outlets such as Newsweek and the Daily Mirror. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, her upbringing in a newly democratic society has given her a 21st-century perspective on a diverse set of issues. Alice’s joy for storytelling was sparked at an elephant sanctuary her mother was covering for a news story on SABC 2’s Morning Live. Watching the raw material come to life in the editing booth for the first time marked the start of her journey into journalism.  Her primary concerns are animal welfare, global warming, human rights, and poverty alleviation. However, after moving to Madrid in 2012, she developed a yen for contemporary Spanish theatre. Her latest project, Street Theatre’s Disappearing Act: Madrid’s Silent Crackdown on Street Performers, will be available to read soon.
